HANDLES
Hand made round Brass handles, hang opposite each other on the outside of the Kiondo, a liking to the large hoops of traditional Kikuyu women.
Brass plates with Vicky Ngari signature is screwed to secure the handles
LOGO
One side of the handles sits with the Vicky Ngari Logo: an illusion piece of a butterfly spreading it’s wings in the centre, as two cowrie shells meet facing each other.
Symbolic of spiritual growth, A Butterfly is ever evolving, free, rich in colour and spirit, pollinating wisely in silence.
The Cowrie Shell is an African ancient form of wealth, royalty, heightens divinity , purity , yet serves to clean our oceans seabed. The Kikuyu adorned garments with real Cowrie Shells.

Each Kiondo is uniquely made and the sizes are approximate sizes.
Small : Height 26cm. Width 36cm. Diameter inside 76cm
Medium: Height 30cm. Width 40cm. Diameter inside 90cm
Large: Height 33cm. Width 44cm. Diameter inside 124cm.

100% Sisal Plant
Brown Dye – Tree Bark – this may fade overtime
Avoid rubbing dyed bags against lighter colour fabric.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Your Kiondo may come a little squashed , be sure to:
- find some old clothes you don’t wear and stuff inside
-Put Iron on medium heat + high steam.
- Gently press in sections around Kiondo until shape is smooth.
-Leave garments inside to maintain shape if you please.
DELIVERY COHORTS:
To consider the environment as much as possible, we order Kiondo’s as a cohort.
Once we reach 100 Kiondo’s we ship them out to the country of origin for distribution in one go.
